Ferrari wheel

Wheels are more than likely the most popular and common upgrade car enthusiasts go to when they decide they want to modify their cars.

At MGC suspensions we haven't sold 1 wheel but we do understand how they can completely change the look of a vehicle, and how they go hand in hand with suspension and exhaust upgrades.

To give our readers some good information and value, we have done some research and put together a list of 5 best wheel brands based on quality, performance, weight, fit and finish, and appearance.

We know that appearance is matter of personal taste so the final decision is yours, but we feel good recommending the following wheel brands to our customers who own European cars.

Aftermarket wheels have come a long way becoming much larger in diameter, lighter, stronger, and made for high performance driving.

Monoblock and 3-piece wheel sets are most common today. Competition in the aftermarket wheel industry is fierce, with many players, and many fakes.

Be careful if you are shopping for a new set of wheels and a price that seems to good to be true. There is probably a heavy, bent, dangerous lie behind them.

A high quality set of wheels over 17" in diameter is going to be a financial commitment for sure, but to some it is money well spent for the complete change in mood it can give them and their car.

Some decide they want to go with wheel diameters larger than factory spec so they end up buying a complete new set of wheels and tires.

As you read the short list of wheel brands below please know we didn't pick these brands based on in-house opinion of which wheels we think look the best. We simply went with well known brands we have had personal experience with, or brands we have received great feedback about from others.

On with the list…

BBS WHEELS

About BBS Wheels

BBS was founded in 1970 by Heinrich Baumgartner and Klaus Brand in the town of Schiltach located in the Black Forest of Germany.

The founders of the company were amateur racers looking for performance gains on the race track.

Their focus quickly went to reducing unsprung weight with the development of an ultra light weight three-piece wheel.

This positioned BBS in the motorsports sector gaining the attention of racing programs including BMW who soon started using BBS wheels.

The company expanded steadily and also began making road wheels. In 1983, the original 3 piece "RS" design wheel was launched and this design still stands as one of the most recognized ever.

Performance and technology remain as the driving force inside the company.

BBS wheels are available in different styles, colors, sizes, and offsets to match up with just about any application.

Deciding which wheel is right for you depends on your taste and your budget. There are many other great wheel brands with great products out there, so spend some time shopping around and don't be afraid to ask questions.
