Sound restrictions are becoming prevalent at tracks across the US and the world.
More and more GT3/RS owners are finding themselves struggling to pass sound with exhaust modifications, and at some strict tracks even with the factory exhaust.
SOUL Bolt-On Resonated Turn Down Exhaust Tips offer an effective drop of several dB while minimizing any power loss and swap out in minutes at the track.
+ Fits all Porsche 991.1 / 991.2 GT3 / GT3 RS models including 911R (2014+) with factory center muffler exhaust or aftermarket exhaust that utilizes factory tip mounting plate.
DEVELOPMENT AND TESTING: Several customers of ours running Lime Rock, Laguna Seca, Tremblant, and SCCA Autocross events asked us to come to come up with a solution.
SOUL developed a replacement tip assembly that bolts to either the factory center muffler or any aftermarket muffler/bypass that will accept the factory tip assemblies.
As simple turndown tips have been shown to not make enough of a difference in some cases, we took an extra step and added straight through race resonators into our turndown tip assembly.
The turndown tips themselves are held on to the resonator assemblies by v-band clamps and are optional to run.
Unlike slip on turndowns that seat themselves to exhaust piping after heat cycled, the V-band clamps allow for easy loosening of the tips at any time to point them away from sound recording equipment.
The factory tip assembly can be removed in minutes (just three nuts) making it an easy solution to swap on and off at the track.
This solution has little to no impact on performance as the resonators have no restriction on exhaust flow. The minimum inner piping diameter of 61mm is equivalent to the factory center muffler exit holes which measure 59-60mm.
- Rad running SCCA Autocross in Florida has stock headers, stock side mufflers, and aftermarket center muffler bypass. At 50ft at WOT over 7k rpm a 3-4db drop vs the factory exhaust tips was registered.
- Utilized with stock exhaust by Rennlist member TRAKCAR to pass strict sound restrictions at Bilster Berg circuit in Germany.
SOUND LEVELS: There are many factors which affect sound and every measuring scenario is unique – distance and angle of sound can vary greatly.
A defined level of sound limiting is not guaranteed for this product and your results may vary.
CONSTRUCTION: Each bracket is laser cut and hand finished. V-band clamps are included for mounting. SOUL race resonators are full stainless steel with incredible durability designed for track abuse.
